It's finally happened. After a four-month dry spell, I have passed my 160 4-V on June 26! And with it, I can officially say...
I'm in the 180s!!
The emotion that hit me today as I graded my test pass was one more closely affiliated to humility than ecstasy. This pass came at an incredible time.
This week has overall been a whirlwind of emotions school-wise (don't worry, life is doing just fine.)
Monday had me almost in tears as I dragged myself through a 160 Lit.
Tuesday had me leaping with joy as a tackled a satisfying 180 QA.
Wednesday had me seeing red, livid over the debacle of the 160 4Vs given.
...And then, there was today, Thursday. The week could not have come ended better.
In a way, I am actually more confident about my ability to pass some of the 180s in a more timely fashion mainly because Lits and JCs don't require more than one reader. That whole wildcard just doesn't apply, and I won't have to worry about all the readers being on the same page (figuratively and literally) until I start seriously attempting my 180 4Vs.
The stakes have raised as some 180 tests now require higher levels of passing grades. And that's nothing to say of the 200s. Still, I am very happy and can finally go out and celebrate with some long-deserved sushi!
With only a month left until the end of the summer semester (aaaand family visiting the second-to-last week,) let's see if I can pass my 160 Lit and 180JC. Call me crazy, but I think it may happen.
Hello, Congratulations on making it into the 180's! I found your blog and was very excited to see that you are keeping it up to date. I am new student to court reporting and will be beginning my first classes in the middle of July. It is really great to read about your experience with steno! I just wanted to say hello and that your blog has really helped me get excited about starting classes.
